BLS for Health Care Providers

Goals: 
The BLS for Health Care Providers course teaches the knowledge and skills you need to save a life. You will learn skills for victims of all ages including use of the automated external defibrillator. The course consists of skills teaching and practice sessions as well as skills testing and a written test. The course usually lasts approximately 4 hours.
Objectives: 
  • Learn the steps of CPR.
  • Learn to recognize and relieve choking (foreign-body airway obstruction.)
  • Learn to use the AED.
  • Discuss the safety factors in training and actual resuscitation.
  • Know the signs and symptoms of a heart attack and stroke.
